The Sydney Manga and Anime SHow (SMASH) announced last week that voice actor Masakazu Morita will be appearing at their convention. He is know for his roles such as Ichigo (Beck), Kazuya Hiramura (Bakuman), and Barnaby “Bunny” Brooks Jr. (Tiger and Bunny).

Anime Expo announced today that Character Designer Noizi Ito will be appearing as a guest of honor at this year’s convention. Her work includes “Shakugan no Shana”, “Haruhi Suzumiya” and “The Guided Fate Paradox”

In part of the financial results today, Nintendo announced that Satoru Iwata will be taking on the role of CEO of Nintendo of America. He is replacing the current CEO Tatsumi Kimishima who has been promoted to general manager of Corporate Analysis and Administration, and general manager of the General Affairs Division.

Don’t worry kids, Reggie is still the Chief Operating Officer…

The unique shift in promotions is a result of several directors planning to retire. As such Mr. Iwata will be working more directly with NoA President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime. According to the press release:

“Many of his current responsibilities, including the CEO title, will be assumed by Global President Satoru Iwata. The move will support the company’s unified global strategy, allow streamlined decision making and enhance Nintendo’s organizational agility in the current competitive environment. Reggie Fils-Aime will continue in his role as president and COO of NOA, reporting to Iwata.”

While not working directly under Nintendo, Mr Iwata has been in their radar for a very long time. While working at HAL Laboratory, he has helped create games such as Ballon Fight, Earthbound, and Kirby’s dreamland to name a few. He has also been involved in the Zelda, Mario, and Animal Crossing series. Then in 2002 Iwata succeeded as Nintendo’s fourth president.
