Wao Ryu Japan Debuts Online Featuring Video About Japanese Subcultures

WAO Corporation announced yesterday the launch of their new website “WAO RYU JAPAN”. It features nine different channels (with more to come), each with its own unique perspective on Japanese subcultures.

Here are the channels currently listed:

Gatchi Ota: Featuring the business of anime, games, tokusatsu (Japanese style superheroes), cosplay and doujin (amateur creators of anime and manga), they travel to different on-site to film sets, production studios, and fan festivals.

Kawaii Pateen: Bringing in a little fashion 101 to the Akihabara audience (or at least the ladies), this program talks about make-up, nail art, wardrobe coordination, accessories etc. first-hand from the experts, and share these how-to’s with viewers.

Japa Dol: Placing the spotlight on different idol groups, it features an inside look at the real life of idols training, daily life, and experiences.

Takumi: A program that offers a close glimpse into the traditional Japanese arts of world-renowned craftsmen.

C3 – Creator’s Cool Content: Featuring interviews with the hot creators and production companies of the moment, we will unveil a glimpse into the production of Japan’s famed cultural content.

Lano Comi (Coming soon): ‘Manga’ and ‘light novel’ are words that are capturing the world’s imagination of Japanese popular culture. Our original videos will highlight the latest and most popular manga titles and light novels in the same style as movie trailers, creating our very own ‘Book Trailers’ !

Only in Japan: Featuring the highly unique and curious traditions found only in Japan, and narrated with a foreigner’s perspective.

Japanese Culture in Foreign Lands: A friendly guide to show you where people celebrate Japanese culture such as cosplay, cuisine, and other authentic Japanese cultures outside of Japan.
